Art of Nature -- Perfect Heart Beach Stone

Last summer on the month of July and August was most frequent time spent in beach with family and friends to get more tan and silky skin, going summer vacation in an out of town road trip.  My family and I spent a few days in Tiberias one of the most visited place here in Israel a lot of foreign tourist visiting Tiberias and Jordan river especially Christian Pilgrimage were staying and traveling around because of the Sea of Galilee Lake or Kinneret of which historical and spiritual sites is just around the lake like where Jesus walk on the water and most of his miracles happened in the lake shore and ancient archeological site and churches.  Anyway for me is the time for my favorite stone picking and swimming.

As of stone picking here are some of my most perfect heart beach stone that I've collected and some of this beautiful perfect heart are already sold in my etsy shop @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/charmedjewel?ref=si_shop.  Collecting, picking and selecting beach stone for me is a matter of relaxing moment a choice to which stone to keep and take and which stone to stay behind the shore, there's a saying "Collect, collect and then Select" or " Select, select and then Collect".   A lot of different shapes of heart stone that form naturally on the beach but most of the stone that I love to keep is the one that had shaped perfectly like it has been drawn by hand of an artist but as nature creates art it is perfect.

Some of the hearts have imperfection which I took some of them to remind me that each and everyone of us also have imperfect personality, dealing with different emotions and feelings to show that we have a HEART.

Crocheted Jewelry

For the past few weeks especially during the "Pesach Holiday" which is almost three weeks for school holidays and a time for me to play and make something new.  It always delight me the way crocheting works, the knits and waving technique and I know there are artisans that work and design only in knitting and crocheting especially in wire and I really love there work. Like a student I always  love to learn and know new technique from the past post I've design and made the crocheted wire bracelet in simple chain as I've search the youtube for more info about crocheting wire it makes me more determined to make more crocheted jewelry and it is all about manipulating wire with simple chain. Here is the tutorial link for the ring that I've found in youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF5zNWonQp0 My finished design:                                    Silver plated crocheted wire ring wi...

Fused Copper Wire

One of my fears in making jewelry is the soldering technique as far as I can remember as a child I've seen my father's soldering materials and tools and how he manage to work those hot flames and I said "WOW" that's tough work.  Last year i bought a micro torch just in case I have the courage to try...in my mind I tried soldering like practicing it a hundred times and there's always the word "What If" every time I hold the torch then put it back.  I told my mother about the idea of soldering and she says "It will not happen until you try to make it happen".  Now for the first time in soldering using a micro torch as a starter I use raw copper wire to fuse, micro torch, fire brick, goggles, and a glass of water to cool off the hot wire and I was wondering since fine silver can be fused without flux maybe copper can be fused also in the same process.     After a couple of attempt to fuse copper wire finally I manage to make one bet...
