Fused Copper Wire

One of my fears in making jewelry is the soldering technique as far as I can remember as a child I've seen my father's soldering materials and tools and how he manage to work those hot flames and I said "WOW" that's tough work.  Last year i bought a micro torch just in case I have the courage to try...in my mind I tried soldering like practicing it a hundred times and there's always the word "What If" every time I hold the torch then put it back.  I told my mother about the idea of soldering and she says "It will not happen until you try to make it happen".  Now for the first time in soldering using a micro torch as a starter I use raw copper wire to fuse, micro torch, fire brick, goggles, and a glass of water to cool off the hot wire and I was wondering since fine silver can be fused without flux maybe copper can be fused also in the same process.

After a couple of attempt to fuse copper wire finally I manage to make one better.

These are fused fine silver wire that I've soldered to make rings and pendant charm and it looks nice but not as perfect as I imagine it but its a start.:)
For me always try something new to learn.

Cheers,

Gracie

Be Your Son's Personal Barber

Why pay a couple of dollars to a hair salon for children if you can do it yourself.  Be a personal barber to your child it will save more money especially moms who is budgeting tightly.  I cut my son's hair since he is 3 years old, his first hair cut actually I did.  He have curly and puffy hair so almost every three months I trim it or cut it short and it saves me a lot of paying to a hair dresser for the amount of $15 or more no way. As for my husband who is paying more also save him or for both of us which he goes every 2-3 weeks.    Since I bought my hair clipper Panasonic for home use three years ago a really big difference used it for my two big guys :) while going to a hair salon which will pay more.  Well cutting their hair is just courage and dealing with toddlers or older talking to them while trimming their hair will make them stay put because most of the time they are whining. Crocheted Jewelry

For the past few weeks especially during the "Pesach Holiday" which is almost three weeks for school holidays and a time for me to play and make something new.  It always delight me the way crocheting works, the knits and waving technique and I know there are artisans that work and design only in knitting and crocheting especially in wire and I really love there work. Like a student I always  love to learn and know new technique from the past post I've design and made the crocheted wire bracelet in simple chain as I've search the youtube for more info about crocheting wire it makes me more determined to make more crocheted jewelry and it is all about manipulating wire with simple chain. Here is the tutorial link for the ring that I've found in youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF5zNWonQp0 My finished design:                                    Silver plated crocheted wire ring wi...
