Fused Copper Wire

One of my fears in making jewelry is the soldering technique as far as I can remember as a child I've seen my father's soldering materials and tools and how he manage to work those hot flames and I said "WOW" that's tough work.  Last year i bought a micro torch just in case I have the courage to try...in my mind I tried soldering like practicing it a hundred times and there's always the word "What If" every time I hold the torch then put it back.  I told my mother about the idea of soldering and she says "It will not happen until you try to make it happen".  Now for the first time in soldering using a micro torch as a starter I use raw copper wire to fuse, micro torch, fire brick, goggles, and a glass of water to cool off the hot wire and I was wondering since fine silver can be fused without flux maybe copper can be fused also in the same process.     After a couple of attempt to fuse copper wire finally I manage to make one bet

Holey Stone Jewelry

Holey Stone or Odin stone are rocks that have been holed naturally for hours of tumble in water for a very long time.  It can be found in rivers, beaches where water and stones located.  When I've search a bit in the internet some beliefs used the stone as an amulet for protection, good luck and used in seeing a faeries, for Wicca and pagan artifacts in their rituals. Well as for me I like to used it in my jewelry making something a bit unusual and whimsical or let's just say a bit of different from others :))  Here are my collection of holey stone and made some jewelry out of it  Holey heart beach stone pendant  Holey stone earring with green aventurine in brass wire   Some of the bigger stone that I've found used as a decor  in  my garden.

Crocheted Jewelry

For the past few weeks especially during the "Pesach Holiday" which is almost three weeks for school holidays and a time for me to play and make something new.  It always delight me the way crocheting works, the knits and waving technique and I know there are artisans that work and design only in knitting and crocheting especially in wire and I really love there work. Like a student I always  love to learn and know new technique from the past post I've design and made the crocheted wire bracelet in simple chain as I've search the youtube for more info about crocheting wire it makes me more determined to make more crocheted jewelry and it is all about manipulating wire with simple chain. Sea Glass Jewelry

It is very calming to go the beach on walk or having fun with family and friends for swimming. Even on hot winter days going to the beach along the sea shore looking at the waves and the surfers are relaxing and stress free mind for a couple of hours. As always going to the beach is fun to look for some sea treasures like beach pebbles with differents colors and patterns, sea/beach glass of different colors.  What is Sea Glass? ... Sea glass are actually broken pieces of bottled drinks of beers, sodas, ceramics, and other glasswares of different kinds that are tumbled naturally by sea water, sand and pebbles for a very long time.  The more frosted and smooth it is means it stayed long in the water.  Sea glass can be found on the beaches and lakes wherever there is people in the area the possiblity of more sea glass can be found.   More and more people are collecting sea/beach glass not just as a hobby but the possibility of profitable hobby as well because of its ongoing popularity.

Cleaning Up The Mess

When I bought strands of beads not all of them are likely to be used in my project, I mean how many beads you could used in couple set of jewelry...there are always extras and as always put it aside until forgotten and again the same cycle buy another strands of beads. While I was clearing and organizing my working table I've found some loose beads of different colors of gemstones.  Not just beads but some of it is fine wires that I've bought and forgot to use and the remaining wires that left from previous project .  So after clearing up my own mess in my table I decided to make something of the loosed beads and the wires. This is an extra long necklace that I've crocheted with gold color cord thread and loose beads that I've gathered. I've made a crocheted bracelet from the fine brass wire that left from previous project that I had made before. I love this mokite ring from one of the tumbled stone left. Sometimes we forgot what we have in our organiz
